Redington Shores
holds trash costs line
NOVEMBER 2007
REDINGTON SHORES--A four-year freeze on the cost of trash pickup has
been negotiated by the town of Redington Shores, which will pass it on
to residents.
The agreement with Waste Services Inc.,
which collects the town's trash on Wednesdays and Saturdays, means
that part of the annual tax bills of residents will not increase over
the next four years.
Waste Services agreed to the four-year freeze
when the town agreed to extend its contract with the firm for 10
years.
Redington Shores
moves underground
OCTOBER 2007
REDINGTON SHORES--New lights finally are lighting the streets of Redington
Shores and the old overhead wiring has been taken down as most of the
town goes underground.
The removal of the
remaining old wooden utility poles also nearly is done and should be
completed shortly, says a Progress Energy spokesperson.
Earlier this year, town officials said the
project was to have been completed by June.
The project, which Redington Shores
taxpayers are financing through a $5 million bank loan, does not
include Gulf Boulevard. To include Gulf Boulevard would cost more than
the town can afford, according to Mayor Jody Armstrong.
